Gift & Retail Packaging
Grosgrain is a strong alternative to satin in gift box programs where a matte, structured finish is preferred over gloss. Works for seasonal programs and retail bag handles.
We manufacture grosgrain ribbon, also searched as grosgrain band, for packaging, apparel trim, and branded programs. Matte ribbed finish, excellent print adhesion. Plain stock from 1,500 yards (1,372 m). Custom Pantone color from 5,000 yards (4,570 m). Physical sample before any bulk order.
| Program Type | Minimum | Lead Time |
|---|---|---|
| Stock / plain grosgrain | 1,500 yards (1,372 m) per color | 25–40 business days |
| Custom color (dyed) | 5,000+ yards | 30–45 business days |
| Custom printed grosgrain | 1,000+ yards per design | 25–40 business days |
| Sample (all programs) | — | 7–14 business days |
Grosgrain is not interchangeable with satin. Its ribbed surface changes how print sits, how it drapes, and how it holds structure. Buyers who order without a physical sample often find the finished product doesn’t match their visual brief — and by then, bulk is already in production.
This page is the owner route for grosgrain ribbon supplier, grosgrain band, grosgrain-band, ribbed ribbon, and wholesale grosgrain roll searches. Keeping those terms together prevents internal competition and gives buyers one route for material, width, color, print, and MOQ decisions.
Fine ribs carry hot stamp logos cleanly. Heavier rib construction blurs fine type. Finalizing artwork before seeing the ribbon surface may require design simplification after the sample comes back.
The matte ribbed face absorbs color differently than a smooth face. A swatch correct on satin can read two shades darker on grosgrain. Physical color confirmation before bulk prevents batch rejection.
Narrow grosgrain (3/8″ (9.5 mm) to 5/8″ (15.9 mm)) is stiff for hair accessories and labels. Wide grosgrain (1.5″ (38 mm)+) drapes differently for gift packaging and sashes. Width impacts loom setup and pricing.
Most programs use woven-edge rolls. Cut-to-length with hemmed edges requires additional processing. If your program involves pre-cut pieces, specify it at RFQ so we include finishing cost and lead time.
Missing any of these inputs before bulk production starts compounds risk at every downstream step — rework, rejection, and schedule overrun all begin here.
Grosgrain is the right material when you need structural body, print adhesion, and a non-shiny face. For grosgrain band and bulk grosgrain roll programs, the solution is a structured sampling and approval cycle that locks in all variables before production runs.
Grosgrain’s woven ribs grip foil and ink better than smooth ribbon. Logo programs run with consistent registration on production runs above 1,000 yards (915 m) per design.
Where satin sheen feels festive, grosgrain reads as structured and polished. Preferred for apparel trim, hat banding, hair accessory programs, and premium box finishing.
We dye against your Pantone reference and produce a physical color sample. You compare against your brand standard before bulk. Color approval required before production starts.
Plain and stock-color grosgrain starts at 1,500 yards (1,372 m) per color. Multiple widths in the same color can be combined toward MOQ in some programs — ask at RFQ stage.
