Custom Ribbon Moq And Cost Guide
Understand which order details affect MOQ, setup cost, unit price, lead time, and quote accuracy.
Read guide →This page provides MOQ reference tables and full program timeline detail for all Lude Ribbon product types. Use this to plan your program before submitting an RFQ.
Most timeline failures are predictable and preventable. Three problems appear consistently:
Buyers who plan 6 weeks from order to delivery often haven’t included the 7–14 business day sample cycle. Total minimum cycle for a custom program is: sample (2 weeks) + approval (1 week) + production (3–4 weeks) + shipping (3–4 weeks sea / 1 week air) = 9–11 weeks minimum. Programs started with 6 weeks to deadline don’t arrive.
Plain / stock ribbon products start from 1,500 yards (1,372 m) per selected color or design. Printed ribbon programs are usually around 3,000 yards (2,745 m) per design/program. Ready-made bows and award ribbons start at 1,000 pieces per style; confirm sash quantities by RFQ. Confirm the product type before using MOQ in a quote.
Sea freight takes 3–4 weeks after production completion. Air freight takes 5–7 days but costs 4–6× more per kilogram. Buyers who don’t plan shipping method at order placement often pay air freight because they ran out of sea freight time. Decide at order placement, not at production completion.
Each failure builds on the last. A program that enters production with any of the three unresolved typically ends with emergency freight or a missed season.
Program launched 8 weeks before the event date. Sampling alone takes 3 weeks. Production hasn’t started. The math fails from day one — and no one has said so yet.
A stock ribbon program, printed ribbon program, and sash program were priced from the same MOQ assumption. The quote has to be rebuilt because each product type starts from a different minimum.
Production completes at week 11. Sea freight adds 4 more. Event is past. Air freight costs 5× sea rate. Or the program is cancelled and the deposit is at risk.
The table below shows our standard MOQ by product type. Custom programs, OEM/ODM, and specialty constructions have separate MOQ terms confirmed at RFQ stage.

Below MOQ: orders under these quantities are still possible and carry a one-time setup charge. The amount depends on product type and print method, and is confirmed with your quotation.
